Why We Do It

Mission Statement

Graduated High School as a State Jr Olympic Miler Champion, Freshman year in College involved in a fatal car accident that left me temporarily paralyzed. I was fortunate that i didn’t have a spinal injury and could relearn how to walk, talk and perform daily activities. Still entered a dark space, made a mental list of things i could no longer do, and had very little motivation to live life on lifes terms.
I saw a guy in a local watering hole: shooting pool, laughing, joking and having fun in a wheelchair. I wanted what he had to drink, smoke or swallow. I invited him to a driving experience, that’s when i had my Magic Moment. You could hear him screaming with ecstasy over the sound of the motor, tears streamed down his cheeks when he was helped from the car, that was the defining moment when i learned that helping someone experience something like mobility was way more fun then feeling sorry for myself and living in the dark zone.
The goals and objectives have always been to help PWD regain mobility, Magic Moments in life don’t happen every day for everyone, but Accessible Racing help others experience the memorable life changing events at every event for every individual.
